Our take

Two days where hospital leaders, designers, researchers and health tech founders sit in the same rooms. In 2026 the theme is resilience and leadership through change, with AI, prevention, prediction and preparedness. Day 1 is at the University of Helsinki, day 2 at Aalto.

The story

First held in 2017

Health Design was founded in 2017 by Northbay, Healthtech Finland, Aalto University and HUS, and has grown into one of the leading health innovation events in the Nordic and Baltic region.

Tips

• Day 1 and day 2 are in different places, so check where you need to be.
• Talk to the hospital people: they decide what gets piloted.

Prepare

• Get involved without founding a company

  You don't need your own startup to be part of health innovation: you can join events, volunteer, work at a startup or study the field, and each of these builds the knowledge and network you'd need later.

• What is health innovation?

  Health innovation means finding a better way to keep people healthy or to care for them, and it can be a product, a service, a new way of working, or a company built around one of these.
